Magazines – we love ‘em. They are glossy, have pictures of people we want to look like, have ads that help us spend our money, and contain a plethora of helpful information on how to get shredded in 4 weeks, or how to lose weight in a matter of minutes!! And our consumption of these things increases as we start Getting Ready For Summer. Summer is after all the season we can no longer pretend the layers are simply clothing. Clearly, now is the time to buy more magazines! I mean, now is the time to do something about getting the body into shape. Yes, it’s time to channel your inner Dr Phil, and put some verbs into your sentences people! Let me tell you why you should get your backside into action now:
- It takes around 8 – 12 weeks to see results. Starting now will have you not only looking, but feeling great during party season or over the period where you want to be taking your kids to the beach or pool (and they want you to be mucking in swimming with them, not covering yourself up, back out of sight).
- We would rather you form healthy habits that are sustainable and have these things become a permanent part of your lifestyle, than have this same panic year after year as summer rolls around. Habits take time, and some effort to consolidate. By starting now, you can have those firmly embedded before the Christmas rush takes over and you find it harder to get things rolling.
- Anecdotal evidence from people we have come across indicates that you are more likely to keep the weight off if you start now rather than waiting until the New Year. Statistics also support this, showing clearly that New Years Resolution type goals, generally have a very short life span and more often than not fail.
