WOW, where do I start with this bloke??? Matt walked in the doors of CrossFit Access about a year ago and since then he has completely transformed himself from your everyday office worker to full blown CrossFit Junkie!!! The results that Matt has experienced simply comes down to his consistency. He living proof that if you show up time and time again the results follow!
Lets get to know Matt a little better:
Age : 30 years Occupation: Business Manager How long have you been at Access? One year What do you enjoy outside of Crossfit? Spending as much time as I can with the family. Getting out the house and trying/seeing new things! Enjoying a quiet moment with my 3rd love Foxtel hahaha Favourite WOD/Movement? Love any kind of AMRAP Least favourite? 16.4! I was crippled for a week! I hate and WOD’s that are “For time” Don’t like running… What is biggest achievement so far? Doing a Bar Muscle up! Doing the Open as a RX athlete ….. for the whole 5 WODs!!! What are my future goals? Get butterfly pullups (So Close) Master toestobars (So Close) Muscle up (so far away) Who’s your box buddy? A French guy that’s always TRYING to beat me hahaha! Also all the 5.30am morning crew! Why did I start CrossFit? I heard Chris (Aidan’s mum) talking about it at work and I ask the question what is CrossFit?? It sounded like something that I would like to try that was different and out of my comfort zone. One year on and I’m a CrossFit addict. What do I love about CrossFit Access? The Coaches and the Community, I remember sitting in my car before my first ever class and thinking what the hell am I doing! I’ve never lifted weights, I can’t run to save myself (still can’t) what the hell is a burpee?! And I’m socially awkward which doesn’t help the situation. After a few minutes I calmed myself and got the courage to get out of my car and walk through the door. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful and I didn’t feel like that “new guy” I still see it time and time again when new faces walk through the door. This is only one of the things that I love about CrossFit Access Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? Have a go! Listen and trust the coaches they are the best at getting the best out of you! And most importantly have fun.
