Huge congrats to Lance (also known as Ducky) who is our Athlete of the Month for February! He has been with us since the inception of CrossFit Access and is a very well known figure in our community! But that’s not why he has won the title of Athlete Of The Month…. This is the man that will stay back after class and put all the kettlebells back in order, he’ll make sure all the wall balls are colour coordinated on the rack and is always keen to lend a hand helping put other peoples gear away for them. Aside from that over the last few months the dedication and commitment to his training and nutrition has forged an amazing transformation both mentally and physically and I reckon this masters athlete is at the top of his game!

What are your future goals? To get Double Under and HSPU in the next 12 months.
Tell us something we don’t know about you? I am a hopeless romantic especially when it comes to Danielle Steel and Barbara Taylor-Bradford mini-series on TV.
Who’s your box buddy? I would have to say the 5:30am class each day.
Why did you start CrossFit? I fell into CrossFit by accident and I was doing a boot camp session down at Scarborough and the business was closing. I had a 1 on 1 session and asked Adam if he was available to do 1 on 1 sessions to keep my fitness up and this started in early 2012. He was unfortunately transferred to Melbourne for a period and knew the owners of two CrossFit boxes and joined one of them.
What do you love about CrossFit Access? I love the coaches and support and encouragement from them and support from other athletes.
Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? Do not be put off by what people say about CrossFit and investigate for yourself and find a box that makes you feel comfortable.
