We’re kicking of 2016 with a pretty special Athlete of the month! This bloke it one of our special CrossFit dads kicking ass! He CrossFits here at Access with his beautiful partner in crime Bridget and his daughter, Maia, also trains in our CrossFit Kids class. Glen recently achived a 3rd place finish at the Masters competition in Mandurah.
Lets get to know Glen a little better:
Age : 42years Occupation: Rigger How long have you been at Access? Nearly 3years (part-time FIFO) What do you enjoy outside of Crossfit? Spending time with my kids & their interests & socialising with family & friends. Favourite movement? Strict press Least favourite? Double unders & running What is biggest achievement so far? The ability to be competitive at competitions & pushing myself both mentally & physically. What are my future goals? To be able to keep improving & remain competitive for as long as possible. Who’s your box buddy? The love of my life, Bridget. 😉 Why did I start CrossFit? I initially started Crossfit because Bridget joined. I said “what’s that shit?” Nek minnit I was hooked! I found the atmosphere contagious & every workout to be challenging & appealed to my competitive nature. What do I love about CrossFit Access? The people. I’ve met & become friends with people from all different walks of life who I would never have come across if not for Access. There is a definite sense of family at Access. Everyone is encouraging & the atmosphere is positive. The coaching is top-shelf & they are continuously trying to improve each individual. Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? Just have a go. Learn the movements properly & progress at your own time. In the beginning don’t try & keep up with the person next to you because everyone is at different levels. Most of all have FUN! (because every WOD is Fun!)
