WHAT IS CROSSFIT
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
We get asked this question a lot, or variations of this question like “Do we just show up and do our own thing?” and “How does a CrossFit class run?” We’ll do our best to try and explain how CrossFit_Access works / runs from start to finish.
Everyday there is a new ‘Workout Of the Day‘ posted on our website and this is called the ‘WOD‘. The WOD could be anything. Some days it could be weightlifting, some days it could be endurance, other days it could be a mix of lots of things! This is what makes CrossFit workouts so great is that they are always constantly varied. They are however not random. Every WOD is carefully planned & programmed to cycle through all muscle groups & movements so over time you are working every inch of your body!
The WOD will always have different variations which are scaled to suit different athletic abilities so if you’re a power house monster or have never done physical exercise before there will always be something for everyone!
The WOD will be posted daily, usually the night before so you can get a sneak peak of what tomorrow will hold. Every class that day will do exactly the same WOD. Each athlete will show up 15 minutes early for a warm up, then the class will start on the scheduled time. There will always be a coach present who will run the class and take you through all movements & exercises in the WOD. They will provide you with coaching to help improve your technique. You are NOT left to figure it out by yourself like a normal gym. We care about you and want to give you the best quality training in each and every session.
After the WOD has finished the coach will take you through a cool down and stretch. Most WOD’s are scored in some way – either by time, how many rounds completed or how heavy you lifted. The athletes from every class write up their score on the whiteboard so at the end of the day everyone can compare how they did against other athletes or even just yourself.
