Jen has returned to us after a break from CrossFit and has not taken a backwards step since returning! Jen attacks every WOD with 100% commitment and will always cheer on her training partners and is an all rounded athlete who picks new skills up very quickly. And we are so proud of her efforts and a huge congratulations for taking out our October athlete of the month! We can’t wait to see what Jen achieves in the future and watch her continue to contribute to our awesome community! Lets get to know more about this cool athlete here;
- Name: Jen Freeman
- Age: 29
- Occupation: Radiographer
- How long have you been at CrossFit Access? Approx 5 months
- What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit? Food and Travelling
- What is your favourite and least favourite movements or WODs? Fav: Push Jerks/Box Jumps. Least: Squat Snatch!!
- What your biggest achievement so far? Learning to rope climb
- What are your future goals? Strict PU’s and Decent T2B
- Tell us something we don’t know about you. I love the water
- Who’s your box buddy? The 5:30am crew are ALL my buddies
- Why did you start CrossFit? I really wanted to work on my general fitness and meet new people. I’ve always wanted to see how far I could push myself. I freaked when I first walked up to the box and saw all these ‘hardcores’. Straight away someone could see that I was new, said hey and introduced me to Kelly for my fundamentals. I have got so much room for improvement to find my MAX limit but I am so glad I got my butt into gear and started CrossFit.
- What do you love about CrossFit Access? I love the environment at Access. It always feels positive and it always feels good to rock up and see everyone. Someone is always cracking a joke or giving you a tip on how to improve. The coaches are all on to it and I feel like they’re invested in seeing people improve. There always seems to be a social event or a fundraiser or a comp for you be a part of. More than just a CrossFit box!
- Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? Just keep going. You might feel dead on your feet but it’s worth it. Tomorrow you might get a PB!!
